Purim – Seeing Mircales

Posted on March 1, 2023March 1, 2023 By debs2830

It is interesting to note that the only place in Tanach that calls the Jews “Yehudim” is Megillas Esther. I saw in the sefer Torah Tavlin that the Dargah Yeseirah writes that this is because the word Yehudi means to acknowledge and thank. The great strength of the Jews that turned the decree around was the Jewish out-cry to Hashem and their complete faith in Him that only (Continued on page 2) He can save them. On Purim, we saw the clarity of Hashem’s Divine intervention in our lives, filling us with peace and happiness and causing us to acknowledge and thank Hashem.

Even though a Jew is required to acknowledge and thank Hashem every day of the year, Purim is a special day that should be used to recognize the hidden good that Hashem does for His Yehudim (Jews). Gifts of food, giving to the poor, and enjoying a festive meal all give us the opportunity to feel united and create harmonious peace between ourselves.

Reading and listening to Megillas Esther is meant to be an experience of seeing Hashem where He is hidden. It is incumbent upon us to come out with a deeper appreciation for Hashem, who is controlling all situations and is completely involved in every detail of our lives.
